What We Look For In a High School Computer Science Tutor
  • Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of computational thinking, programming fundamentals in Python or Java, data types, control structures, functions, arrays, basic algorithms, debugging, and introductory concepts in cybersecurity and data. Adapts instruction using visual programming tools, interactive coding platforms, and engaging projects to support students from introductory exploring computer science through pre-AP preparation.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
