Job Summary

Adjunct faculty are needed for our BCTC campuses for a variety of introductory Communication courses including Basic Public Speaking and Introduction to Interpersonal communication. Responsibilities include the evaluation & supervision of students, working collaboratively with faculty and staff and completing professional development requirements.

Job Duties:

provide instruction for on campus, hybrid, and/or online communication courses aligned with the program/area-approved course objectives
prepare adequately for all classes and meet all assigned classes punctually
demonstrate current knowledge required by curriculum communication
conduct classroom and college-related activities in a professional manner
evaluate student progress appropriately, equitably, and in a timely manner
maintain student grade reports in the college learning management system
follow the instructor reporting schedule which includes submitting student progress reports, recording midterm and final grades, and submitting other required reports in a timely manner
work collaboratively with faculty & staff to provide education, evaluation & supervision to students
complete required professional development trainings required of adjunct faculty.
maintain all necessary and required records relating to student achievement, progress, and attendance; especially by verifying course attendance at the start of the semester and identifying last day of attendance for students who earn an E or equivalent grade
other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum requirements are a Master's Degree in Communication or a Master's Degree in any field and at least 18 hours of graduate-level coursework in communication. Previous teaching experience, specifically in higher education is preferred but not required.
