About the Role:
As a Cargo Risk Coordinator at TQL, you'll help protect our customers, carriers, and business by evaluating freight transportation risks, high-risk commodities, cargo exposures, insurance requirements, and compliance concerns. You'll partner closely with the sales organization to identify potential risks, provide solutions, and help teams make informed decisions when moving high-risk freight.
This role combines risk management, transportation, insurance, compliance, analysis, and customer service. If you enjoy solving problems, analyzing risk, communicating recommendations, and working in a fast-paced logistics environment, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Analyze cargo, freight and transportation risks and identify potential exposures that could impact shipments
  • Evaluate high-risk commodities, customer situations and freight scenarios to determine appropriate risk mitigation strategies
  • Partner with sales teams to identify, communicate and resolve cargo risk and transportation risk issues
  • Educate sales teams on freight risks, insurance requirements, compliance considerations and individual accountability
  • Research and purchase appropriate cargo insurance based on identified risks and business requirements
  • Conduct risk management, policy and compliance audits to identify gaps and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation plans based on audit findings and identified exposures
  • Monitor risk trends and recommend changes to policies, procedures and processes
  • Build risk awareness across the organization through ongoing support, education and training
  • Provide timely issue resolution and exceptional internal customer service to support TQL's sales and operations teams
  • Collaborate with internal teams to balance business needs with appropriate risk management and compliance standards
