What does a costurera do?

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a costurera?

To thrive as a Costurera, you need proficiency in garment construction, fabric handling, and pattern reading, often supported by vocational training or experience in sewing. Familiarity with industrial sewing machines, cutting tools, and sometimes CAD software for pattern design is typical in this role. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and strong time management are crucial soft skills for producing high-quality work efficiently. These skills ensure garments meet quality standards, production deadlines, and customer expectations in the textile and fashion industries.
