    • Position Summary
    • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position(s) available in Student Orientation - Transition
    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after July 1, 2026, and ending on or before June 30, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in planning and coordinating NSO logistics and materials to support the program
      • Assist in preparation, implementation, and follow-up of orientation and transition programs throughout the academic year (e.g., workshops, presentations, events)
      • Work with the Orientation Leaders on the concepts, content and presentation formats for orientation breakout sessions.
      • Support the coordination of program logistics, including reservations, materials, and communication with students and campus partners
      • Assist with readiness of program materials, schedules and related documents
      • Help ensure programs are organized and prepared
      • Assist with maintaining consistency across orientation and transition programming
      • Assist with training and supporting Orientation Leaders
      • Serve as a point of contact during programming
      • Assist with communicating expectations, schedules and updates to Orientation Leaders
      • Support Orientation Leaders in staying on track with responsibilities and program flow
      • Assist with monitoring attendance, participation and overall team coordination during programs
      • Help provide support and guidance to Orientation Leaders as needed
      • Assist with creating and organizing training materials and resources for Orientation Leaders
      • Promote a positive, organized and supportive team environment
      • Collect and organize program data
      • Assist with collecting participant feedback (e.g., surveys, sign-ins, participation tracking)
      • Help organize and compile data for program summaries and progress updates
      • Assist in preparing summaries for review by the Strategic Operations Specialist
      • Support Student Affairs Marketing & Communications and program staff in gathering information to evaluate programs
      • Assist with maintaining organized records of program participation and feedback
      • Maintain records and communication.
      • Assist with events and promotional activities.
      • Assist with data entry, document preparation, and maintaining organized program files
      • Support communication efforts related to orientation and transition programming (e.g., emails, reminders, updates)
      • Assist with tracking program materials, supplies, and operational needs
      • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day program operations
      • Perform all other duties or projects as assigned
    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates the ability to work well with others and independently to meet deadlines.
      • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to support multiple projects and timelines
      • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support peer staff (e.g., Orientation Leaders)
      • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, supporters and campus partners
      • Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and program plans
      • Demonstrates ability to take direction, follow through on assigned tasks, and seek guidance when needed
      • Experience with student programs, orientation, or campus involvement preferred
      • Experience supporting events, programs, or group coordination preferred
      • Demonstrates skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., spreadsheets, documents, email communication)
      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
    • Salary Range
    • $19.00 per hour.
