With roots as radiopharmaceutical couriers, we understand the importance of precision as well as the margin of error that is considered in making both safe and dependable deliveries. We have maintained these strict standards and adherence to time-critical deadlines throughout our network. 1099-contractors drive the delivery of time-sensitive and life-saving therapies and diagnostics to our customers.

Contractor Sought
Associated Couriers is looking for a dependable and professional independent contractor courier for one, or all, of the following:

  • Routed Deliveries - Varying routes that normally have a set recurring schedule to them. **NOTE: routes may change unexpectedly based on customer needs

Services Sought
For this contract, you will be picking up and delivering pharmacy medications and medical supplies.

Coverage Sought
Reliable independent contractors with availability to run orders:

Monday through Saturdays from 7am - 12:30pm
Deliveries to be made throughout Michigan
Approx. daily miles = TBD
contractors with 4+ days of availability will be given preference

Contractor Commissions

  • Earned in one or more of the following ways: per mile, per route, per stop (plus variable fuel surcharge in some of our markets)
  • Earned weekly through our third-party pay administrator Openforce
  • Specific commission details to be discussed in the pre-contracting process

Requirements for Contract

  • Per insurance requirements, eligible contractors will be between 21 and 75 years of age
  • Attentive to detail
  • Live within 35 miles to zip code 49684
  • Own a reliable and registered Sprinter Van, preferably high-roof that would be used for this contract (2010 or newer)
  • OR, own a reliable and registered minivan that would be used for this contract (2010 or newer)
  • Provide bracing straps and dolly for cargo
  • Have and maintain state minimum requirements for bodily injury and property damage as primary auto insurance
  • At your choice: maintain your own qualifying workers' compensation insurance or participate in the Occupational Accident Insurance program for a weekly fee
  • Be able to complete contractor-qualifying screenings and online delivery preparation modules
  • Have a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents in the last three years
  • Have a smartphone to use for GPS order tracking and order scanning
  • Willing to drive in inclement weather to service our customers
  • Adherence to customer required professional appearance standards:
    • Solid white and/or royal blue polo shirt
    • Solid colored pants (no athletic wear or sweatpants)
    • Comfortable shoes/boots (no flip-flops, high heels, sandals, etc)
    • 1099-Contractor ID prominently displayed (supplied by Associated Couriers

Contracting with Life Couriers
Our 1099 contracts are offered to interested and qualifying contractors on a first come, first served basis. As such, time is of the essence in completing the pre-contracting process as soon as possible. The process to contract with Life Couriers takes approximately 2-5 days to finish. Read these notes BEFORE you review and execute your operating agreement:
• Your rates are already worked out and are paid by mile and by stop. You can accept all the vehicle-specific rates and move on to the next section of your enrollment.
• Couriers with LLC/EIN will be given preference over those using their SS number
• You must accept our Cargo Insurance offer if you do not have a $250,000 coverage policy with a deductible no greater than $1,500 and which indicates Life Couriers as an additional policyholder
• You must enroll in the Occupational Accident Insurance offered if you don’t have proof of your own workers' compensation insurance policy with at least $250,000 medical expense limit per occupational accident and $1,000,000 aggregate limit
• Note: choose “...Carrier will furnish devices and applications, permits...” etc. Contractors are NOT responsible for providing anything besides their vehicle and services
• Upload: Driver's License, Insurance Declarations Pages (NOT insurance card), Vehicle Registration, SS Card, Passport-style selfie picture of your face to create your contractor badge
• HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogen, and other contractor modules will be provided to you at no cost. Your login credentials will only be assigned to you after reviewing your completion of steps 1 and 2 above
