Job description

Position Summary

Sell and deliver company products to supermarket and food service clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Sell truck inventory, introduce new product lines or price changes to existing customers to increase sales at each stop; ensure onboard product is rotated to prevent spoilage.
  • Maintain knowledge of routes / customers; ensure accounts are supported with the highest level of service; troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
  • Load truck at distribution center, unload product at customersโ€™ locations and stock according to customer specifications; acknowledge receipt of product loaded at distribution center or received from carrier.
  • Perform accounts receivable activities including but limited to, generate invoices and credit memos, collect payments from customers based on customer payment terms, and follow procedures for inventory proof of delivery and returns.
  • Inspect vehicle and maintain vehicle / driver records and routine maintenance as required by company procedures and DOT / State regulations; report any issues with vehicle, accidents or driving violations promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fully fluent in Spanish and intermediate proficiency in English (DOT requirement).

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid driverโ€™s license for state of residence, and vehicle insurance as required by state.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One (1) year of driving/route experience.
  • Route sales experience in the food products or packaged consumer goods industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSAโ€™s)

  • MVR which meets Sigma driving standards with review Sigma Human Capital.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Knowledgeable of basic DOT regulations (straight trucks)

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Able to work in a cold environment of approximately 34หš F for prolonged periods of time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to sit and drive for a full shift of at least 8 hours.
  • Able to climb up/down, in/out of truck cab and truck body.
  • Able to stand for at least 4 hours.
  • Can repeatedly lift and move 30 pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand-truck.
  • Can repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push or pull to move 30 pounds.
  • Able to repeatedly move 75-pound load on a cart/hand-truck without assistance.
