Job description

Job Summary
Responsible for leading daily operations in warehousing, shipping/receiving, and supporting inventory control processes. Supervises a team of Warehouse Operators and Shipping & Receiving Specialists to ensure efficient material flow, accurate inventory and order tracking, and timely fulfillment for production and customer shipments.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted production by ensuring parts and materials are available, stored properly, and delivered on time. Oversees prompt, accurate EV battery shipments to the dealer network to support customer satisfaction. Requires proactive problem-solving, adherence to safety and compliance, and driving process standardization and continuous improvement. Strong logistics and inventory management background with proven team leadership is essential.
PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES
  • Oversees inventory stocking strategies to support EV battery service operations.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and effective use of inventory management systems.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting on slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory; recommend and execute disposition strategies.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of stock to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate with the centralized parts and inventory team to resolve part substitutions, supplier escalations, and core availability issues.
  • Collaborate with the parts and inventory team to track and resolve delayed or missing shipments.
  • Supervise all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Ensure shipping specialists audit shipments against Bills of Lading and packing slips for accuracy.
  • Oversee compliance with DOT, IATA, and OSHA regulations for handling and transporting hazardous materials, including EV batteries.
  • Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and packaging of outgoing shipments, including hazardous materials paperwork.
  • Manage freight expenses and optimize shipping methods for cost efficiency.
  • Liaise with transporters to address damaged or misdelivered materials.
  • Ensure shipping clerks maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Lead daily operations of warehouse staff and forklift operators, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
  • Design and implement layout improvements to optimize space utilization and workflow.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT, and internal safety protocols.
  • Oversee maintenance and inspection of warehouse equipment; ensure logs are accurate and up to date.
  • Supervise the repair and upkeep of shipping crates.
  • Track and record KPIs for trend analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Support cycle counting activities, coordinating the collaboration between Forklift Operators and the Parts and Inventory team.
  • Manage staffing schedules, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular team huddles and development planning.
  • Promote a safety-first culture, especially in the handling and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Serve as the primary logistics liaison to internal stakeholders including engineering, production, and client-facing teams.
  • All other tasks, as assigned.

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 3 years' experience in a related field; a master's degree and 1 year of experience; or a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience.
  • 3+ years' experience supply chain, logistics or warehouse operations with a familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety protocols.
  • Requires strong knowledge of applications such Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams, and knowledge of inventory systems and ERP platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization

Preferred Experience & Specialized Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience in a supervisor or lead role, managing hourly teams in a fast-paced setting is strongly preferred.
  • Degree in related discipline strongly desired, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Administration
  • Experience in manufacturing for automotive environments is strongly preferred.
  • Forklift Certification and a working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards with an understanding of they apply to operations and logistics processes are strongly preferred.

USD 61,100.00 - 91,700.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $61,100.00 - $91,700.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
