Job description

The Downtown Boise YMCA is seeking a Facility Maintenance Director to join the team. This position oversees the maintenance and improvements of the Y.

The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.

Work Location: 1050 W. State Street, Boise, ID 83702

Schedule:

This is a full time 40 hour a week position. Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday 7am-3pm and nights or weekends if needed for additional needs. Pay: $21.55-$26.94/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall coordination of facility, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, and coaching, scheduling and on-going development.
  • Recruits and manages volunteers as needed per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines.
  • Ensures that assigned vehicles and other equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with the policiesand procedures of the YMCA.
  • Anticipates risk, implications and possible outcomes before taking action.
  • Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner; Oversees all contractors that work in the facility andgrounds; Follow procedures for bids and recommendation of selection of contractors.
  • Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building departments, etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  • Prepares budgets and interprets financial related statements and forecasts to support the preventative and annualmaintenance plans and monitors expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of previous experience in maintenance field required (facility management preferred).
  • 2-4 years of previous experience as a commercial pool operator (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance relatedareas.
  • Able to work varied hours outside normal schedule to include late nights, weekends due to projects, maintenanceissues, and rotation of on-call calendar.
  • Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members.
  • Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CPR/AED. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period.
  • First Aid Certification. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period.
  • Certified Pool Operator License (CPO). Prerequisite upon hire.
  • YUSA Team Leader Certification required within 3 years.
