Construction Supervisor | Aerial & Underground OSP Construction | Telecommunications Infrastructure

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, W2
Pay: $85,000-$95,000 Annually DOE + Benefits (medical, dental, vision, paid time off, etc)

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager with strong handsโ€‘on experience managing both aerial and underground telecommunications construction projects.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years in construction management or supervisory experience in telecommunications, CATV, fiber optic, or OSP construction experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English / Spanish
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CDL License
  • Experience with construction management and job tracking software
  • Experience supporting major broadband, ISP, telecommunications, or utility construction programs
  • Knowledge of fiber optic network deployment methodologies
Position Summary

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aerial and underground OSP construction projects, including fiber optic deployment, utility construction, restoration activities, quality control, safety compliance, project scheduling, customer communication, and workforce management.

The successful candidate will lead field supervisors, construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Our ideal candidate will know aerial strand and fiber construction, pole line work, underground utility construction, conduit installation, directional boring, and restoration practices.

Primary Responsibilities Construction Operations Management
  • Manage aerial and underground fiber optic construction projects throughout assigned markets
  • Oversee daily operations for construction crews, subcontractors, and field supervisors
  • Ensure projects are completed according to customer specifications, engineering standards, and company requirements
  • Monitor project productivity, manpower utilization, equipment usage, and production goals
  • Perform field audits and inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance
  • Support emergency restoration activities and outage response when required
Project Management
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, labor utilization, and material forecasting
  • Review daily production reports, work hours, and material usage for accuracy
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reporting, and as-built records
  • Coordinate resources and staffing requirements to support project execution
  • Identify risks and develop solutions to maintain project schedules
Customer & Team Leadership
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, municipalities, property owners, and project stakeholders
  • Resolve customer concerns and field issues professionally
  • Lead project review meetings and operational updates
  • Provide training, mentoring, and leadership development for field personnel
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence
Safety & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety programs
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections and quality audits
  • Promote safe excavation, aerial construction, and traffic control practices
  • Ensure all work is completed according to customer and industry standards
