Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for managing materials, supplies, and equipment within the warehouse and yard to ensure timely and accurate delivery to construction teams. This role supports inventory accuracy, proper storage, and efficient material flow while maintaining safety and organization across warehouse and field operations.

The position works closely with construction, fleet, and warehouse personnel to ensure materials and equipment are available, properly tracked, and delivered according to project needs.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

         Track and manage inventory levels, conduct stock audits, and ensure accurate recording of materials received and issued

         Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, verify quantities, and prepare materials for storage

         Dispatch materials and equipment to job sites in alignment with project requirements

         Maintain accurate warehouse documentation, including purchase orders, delivery receipts, and inventory logs

         Organize and store materials to optimize space, accessibility, and safety within warehouse and yard

         Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and shelving systems

         Report equipment issues and ensure tools and equipment remain in safe working conditions

         Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment

         Identify and report safety hazards and ensure proper use of safety equipment

         Coordinate with construction teams, fleet personnel, and warehouse staff to meet material needs

         Address discrepancies, shortages, or material issues in a timely and professional manner

         Provide internal support by responding to material requests and inquiries

         Support fleet operations by transporting materials, equipment, or vehicles as needed

         Maintain regular and punctual attendance

         Other duties may be assigned.

Organizational Responsibilities

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Associate degree preferred or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory-related roles
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments

Work Hours & Location

This position is onsite and scheduled as a full-time role, working 40 hours per week. Additional support within non-regular hours may be required and should be discussed with the supervisor.
