Job description

Part time Nanny (live out) required for a Carroll Gardens family with 2 boys starting Fall 2026 (in place by the start of new school year). Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general the family is looking for a loving and dependable caregiver to support their twin boys, aged 8. The ideal candidate is someone who is patient, emotionally attuned, and able to set firm limits with care. The parents are looking to partner with a nanny who is able to stay calm and consistent through big emotions and behavioral challenges, while guiding and modeling effective coping strategies for the children. The primary focus is daily child related meal prep, school pick up and providing engaging after school care - including after school activities, dinner, and evening routine.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator and be proactive in managing daily tasks like children's active schedules, transitions and cooking meals. A candidate with energy for active + busy afternoons and evenings is key to this role!

Location: Carroll Gardens, NY

Start date: late August/early September 2026 (nanny will be in place for the new school year)

Days/times: Guaranteed at least 15hrs/week (family is open to less/more depending on candidate needs). Monday 12.30-7.30pm, Thursday + Friday 1.30-6pm + ideally Saturday evenings. Ability to flex to full time days/weeks as needed with advance notice (scheduled days off from school, some weeks during the summer when boys are not in camp) is desired. No travel or full weekend coverage is expected with this role.

Children: Twin boys (b. 2018)

Conditions: $30 - $40 per hour* plus unlimited monthly OMNY card, sick/personal days, public holidays and at least two weeks paid leave per year.

  • Physically able (and interest) in managing 2 children on daily commutes and outdoor play
