Job description

The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. ย  We are seeking excellent educators who can provide high-quality instruction and build authentic, supportive relationships with students. We are committed to hiring an inclusive teaching staff to create warm, joyful, student-centered, and welcoming schools.ย 
Chappaqua CSD is looking for thoughtful and knowledgeable educators to serve in the anticipated leave replacement position of Elementary Teacher at Robert E. Bell Middle School effective September 2, 2026 through January 25, 2027 (anticipated).

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.
  • Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.
  • Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
  • Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
  • Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
  • Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
  • Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
  • Maintains high expectations for all students.
  • Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.
