Position Overview

As the Oil Shop Manager at Car Spa, Inc., you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the oil change center. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong focus on customer satisfaction, employee development, and operational efficiency. You will manage a team of oil technicians, ensure compliance with safety and service standards, and drive performance to meet departmental goals. Your leadership will be key to delivering a smooth, high-quality service experience for every customer—while maintaining a safe, well-organized, and profitable operation.


Key Responsibilities

 

Customer Service Leadership 

  • Ensure a customer-first environment in all oil shop operations.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Make initial contact with customers and recommend services based on manufacturer guidelines.


Team Management

  • Schedule and staff the Oil Center according to volume and business needs.
  • Train and certify all oil techs per Car Spa's training standards.
  • Evaluate employee performance through regular check-ins, 30-day, and annual reviews.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with Car Spa’s employee job descriptions and standards.


Operational Excellence

  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Perform monthly physical inventory counts and manage supplier relationships.
  • Maintain Oil Center equipment and ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Conduct ongoing safety training and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Oversee payroll budgeting and manage labor costs effectively.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support operations during emergencies or staffing shortages, including being available to work if the schedule requires.


Leadership by Example

  • Perform opening and closing duties.
  • Lead a team focused on efficiency, safety, and service quality.
  • Uphold and enforce Car Spa's policies and procedures.



Work Environment

  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must navigate around moving vehicles safely and maintain situational awareness at all times.
  • Regular physical activity including bending, reaching, stooping, and stepping in/out of vehicles.
  • Required to wear PPE including protective gear, safety goggles, gloves, bump cap, etc., as per safety guidelines.


Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Oil/Lube Center management or a similar automotive leadership role.
  • Proven customer service and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with basic business operations and management competencies.
  • Ability to lead by example and hold teams accountable to high-performance standards.
