Offshore Operations Engineer
Job SummaryThe Offshore Operations Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing offshore operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves planning and coordinating maintenance activities, managing operational risks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will work closely with offshore teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations while maintaining high safety and performance standards.
Responsibilities- Operational oversight: Monitor and support daily offshore activities, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintenance planning: Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize asset reliability.
- Equipment reliability: Analyze equipment performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure all offshore activities comply with industry regulations, environmental policies, and company safety standards.
- Inventory and supply chain management: Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the availability of critical spare parts and tools.
- Vendor and contractor coordination: Collaborate with third-party service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance and operational tasks.
- Cost monitoring and optimization: Track maintenance and operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or performance.
- Incident investigation and reporting: Assist in root cause analysis of operational incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Continuous improvement: Participate in initiatives to improve operational efficiency, safety performance, and compliance with best practices.
Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, marine, electrical, or offshore engineering (or related field). Equivalent offshore experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in offshore operations, maintenance, or engineering roles, preferably in the oil and gas, marine, or renewable energy sectors.
- Certifications: BOSIET, HUET, TWIC (if applicable), and knowledge of industry standards such as API, DNV, ABS, or IMO regulations.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS), offshore equipment troubleshooting, and reliability analysis.
- Communication and leadership: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and vendors.
- Work environment: This position is based in an office setting with occasional offshore travel for inspections, audits, and project oversight.
