Position Title: Electrical Engineer
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with our client in Milpitas, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and validate cutting-edge electrical designs and solutions that meet our clients' needs.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, in-house engineers, and clients on designs from initial concept to full mass-production phases.
  • Conduct design reviews with clients and company resources.
  • Create, maintain, and review technical specifications, drawings, schematics, component BOM, and other documentation during the course of development.
  • Work to support engineering build activities, including overseas travel.
  • Perform electrical bring-up and lab activities conducive to a start-up-type environment.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing resources to develop and review production test plans.
  • Work to ensure all designs meet yield, quality, and safety standards.

Job Qualifications:
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in consumer electronics with a focus on hardware system design.
  • Track record of nurturing consumer electrical products into production, especially in offshore manufacturing-type environments.
  • Strong proficiency with PCB design and layout toolchains, especially Cadence OrCAD/ Allegro.
  • Strong EE fundamentals on analog circuits (DC/DC, audio, power, and signal integrity, SPICE simulations).
  • Strong EE fundamentals on battery-powered circuits and power optimization best practices.
  • Knowledgeable in digital communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB).
  • Knowledgeable in RF communication systems and protocols (BLE, WiFi).
  • Knowledgeable in Embedded Systems design utilizing ARM and RISC-V processors.
  • Knowledgeable of certification requirements, including UL, FCC, CE, USB-IF.
  • Experience with component sourcing, selection, and cost-reduction activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical problems.
  • Ability to perform limited hands-on lab and other technical work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills, including fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese, are preferred.
