Job description

As a Chief Engineer Reliability (m/f/d), you will define and execute the reliability engineering strategy for the onshore wind turbine fleet of Nordex. Working within the Engineering, Technical Leads organization, you will drive design improvements, strengthen reliability standards, and support the integration of proven engineering practices across products and upgrades. This role contributes to improving turbine performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness throughout the fleet.

 

YOUR TASKS

  • Define and execute the reliability engineering strategy for the onshore wind turbine fleet
  • Establish Design for Reliability (DfR) principles across new products, upgrades, and engineering development activities
  • Act as technical authority for critical turbine components including drivetrain, blade, and electrical systems
  • Drive the adoption of high-reliability engineering standards where technically and economically appropriate
  • Lead design improvements to eliminate recurring failures and increase fleet reliability performance
  • Establish a structured feedback loop between field operations and engineering teams to support continuous improvement
  • Apply offshore wind reliability learnings, predictive maintenance practices, and advanced condition monitoring solutions to onshore turbine development

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • More than 10 years of experience in offshore wind energy with a focus on reliability-related engineering roles
  • Strong expertise in reliability engineering, structural analysis, and failure reduction methodologies
  • Proven experience working with complex wind turbine systems and critical component reliability
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring systems, predictive maintenance, and performance improvement approaches
  • Excellent command of Business English including technical communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product development, and operational functions
