Job Summary
Performs tasks which require minimal training and that can be learned relatively easily and involve few decisions. Positions are typically clerical or non-technical in nature and may involve basic computer usage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will typically involve repetitious tasks such as picking up and sorting mail, answering telephones, running errands, etc. This position will require limited contact with internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Greets office visitors
Runs errands
Picks up mail and delivers to appropriate places
Performs other light administrative duties
Assists Academic Specialist, Department Chair, faculty and staff as required
Minimum Requirements
Must be a current MSU student receiving Federal Workstudy
Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
Must feel comfortable using nominal judgment and possess basic analytical or decision-making skills
Must have the ability to understand and to follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to operate basic equipment such as computer, copier/printer, telephone, etc.
No specific education or specialized skills are required
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Must be reliable and punctual.
Physical Requirements
Working Conditions
Maintains office during lunch hours, meetings, and when Department chair or Academic Specialist is out.
Keeps work station, office, and supply room clean, sanitized and clear of all personal items.
Assistant is required to keep all information confidential and if not, could result in termination of work-study position.
