IEC Florida East Coast partners with contractors, apprentices, and industry stakeholders to promote safety, quality, and career advancement. The organization offers structured apprenticeship programs and member services designed to strengthen the electrical construction community. Role Description The Office/Apprenticeship Assistant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role supports day-to-day office operations and the administration of apprenticeship programs, including answering calls and emails, greeting visitors, and providing information to members, instructors, and apprentices. Responsibilities include maintaining records and databases, processing registrations, assisting with class schedules, preparing documents and reports, and organizing files and materials. The Assistant will help coordinate meetings and events, handle basic billing or payment processing, and support customer service needs for students and contractors. This position works closely with office staff and leadership to ensure a smooth, professional, and learner-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and professional interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates should possess Administrative Assistance and Office Administration skills, such as scheduling, records management, data entry, and organizing documents.
  • Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, including responding to inquiries, supporting apprentices and members, and resolving routine issues professionally.
  • Candidates should possess basic Accounting skills, such as handling invoices, payments, and simple financial recordkeeping.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) and comfort working with databases and online systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office and training environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with some remote work, and collaborate effectively with a small team.
  • Previous experience in an office, educational, or apprenticeship setting is beneficial; high school diploma or equivalent required, postsecondary education is a plus.
