The Medical Intern is a student or recent graduate participating in a structured learning experience designed to enhance knowledge and skills in healthcare, behavioral health, and integrated patient care. Under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, the intern will observe, assist, and participate in clinical and administrative activities to gain practical experience while supporting patient-centered services at New Horizon of the Treasure Coast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Observe and support healthcare providers during patient assessments, consultations, and treatment planning.
  • Assist with patient intake, documentation, and medical record review in accordance with organizational policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and educational activities.
  • Assist with health screenings, patient education, and wellness initiatives as appropriate.
  • Support quality improvement projects, research activities, and data collection efforts.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assigned activities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions with patients, staff, and community partners.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Complete assigned projects, reports, and learning objectives established by the internship program.
