We're seeking a dedicated Courier/File Clerk to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of injured individuals while working alongside a seasoned legal team committed to helping accident victims navigate their recovery process.
Position Overview
Responsible for delivering and picking up legal documents, copying projects, scanning demands, and preparing Demands for mailing. This individual also retrieves files for our attorneys and staff quickly and efficiently and keeps accurate records of the location of files and their contents. Our ideal candidate will adhere to our retention policy regarding the proper handling of paper and electronic records and manage our expansive archive of documents. We will rely on you to keep our files organized and accessible.
Courier mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities
• Courier deposits to the bank
• Retrieve documents from the District Attorney's office
• Deliver documents to the Office of Administrative Court
• Scan incoming and outgoing mail using a variety of scanning equipment
• Sort and deliver incoming mail
• Prepare outgoing mail for shipping
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding scanned documents
• Receive requests to update and/or deliver case files to the legal team through our case management software
• Gather loose files throughout the building and sort them back into the proper case files
• Close files when they are notified and move them to closed file processing
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• 1+ years of experience in an office setting, preferably doing clerical work
• Possess excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a variety of personalities
• Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
