Office Administrator
General Shale – Rome, GA

General Shale, a leading manufacturer of brick, masonry siding, and outdoor hardscape products, is seeking an Office Administrator to support daily operations at our Rome, GA manufacturing facility.

The Office Administrator provides administrative and organizational support to the plant and works with employees across multiple departments to help keep daily operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the plant and assist with day-to-day office operations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with production, shipping, maintenance, customer service, sales, and other departments as needed.
  • Maintain and update records, reports, schedules, and other plant documentation.
  • Enter and maintain information in company systems, including SAP and other computer programs.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, purchase orders, invoices, and other administrative processes.
  • Support production and material scheduling activities as needed.
  • Assist with inventory counts, adjustments, and researching discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments regarding materials, deliveries, and other operational needs.
  • Assist with meetings, scheduling, communications, and other administrative coordination.
  • Support onboarding and administrative activities for new and existing employees.
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as needed to support the facility.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in an administrative, office, operations, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • SAP or other ERP system experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and departments at all levels.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
