Processing Assistant IV Department of Social Services Salary Grade 59: Range $32,972-$34,621
Description of Work
The Processing Assistant IV is responsible for a variety of office support roles and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents and materials. These services are designed clerical in nature to ensure proper processing of mandated services. Primary duties are Security Officer and support to the Administrative Officer. Other duties include document completion, verification, problem identification and resolution; statistical, financial, and/or other record keeping; public contact including receiving and providing information and solving; files maintenance and management; composition, calculation, and determination of an action or compliance; and office equipment operation. This position will also be responsible for Emergency Shelter Operations duties.
Essential Duties and Tasks
The duties involve functioning as Security Officer to allow DSS staff access to state systems the determine eligibility and provide information to state mandated programs; security training for all DSS staff; problem solving technical issues; ensure timely receipt and distribution of State reports to supervisors; process all agency mail; perform property record checks for Medicaid staff; maintain and order supplies for the agency; provide reports to DHHS regarding portal accesses and user identification numbers; internal security inspection reporting annually; financial processing of deposits, withdrawals and record maintenance all agency accounts; correct coding and keying of invoices for financial record keeping; provide assistance in preparation of the DSS 1571 report; manage agency vehicles (users/maintenance); and administer pre-employment computer testing.

Qualifications
A high degree of accuracy is required to ensure that standards are met in a timely manner. The worker may periodically drive the agency vehicles. Visual attention, mental concentration and manipulative skills are necessary. The worker must be able to perform duties with a high level of accuracy and accountability. Must maintain as all times a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in interaction with various community partners and the general public.
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
