The Head of Compliance provides enterprise-wide strategic leadership and oversight of CRC Groupโ€™s regulatory and corporate compliance policies, procedures and programs including compliance operations. The Head of Compliance is accountable for defining and integrating compliance strategy across CRC Group, ensuring that CRCโ€™s Compliance function is best in class. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role serves as the organizationโ€™s recognized compliance authority and partners directly with senior leadership across all corporate functions and all business segments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Set the strategic direction for CRCโ€™s enterprise compliance function, developing and implementing compliance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with evolving regulatory requirements across all functions and business segments in all jurisdictions in which it operates. Leads Compliance operations including but not limited to licensing, surplus lines, financial crimes, quality assurance, market security, and agency appointments. Partner with executive leadership and the General Counsel to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise compliance risks; provide executive-level reporting on compliance performance, exposure areas, regulatory developments, and corrective actions. Develop, maintain, and continually improve enterprise-wide compliance monitoring and audit programs; oversee compliance risk assessments and ensure timely, practical remediation of identified gaps. Ensure CRCโ€™s operations comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to insurance-specific state and federal regulatory obligations. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and industry groups. Lead the development and implementation of compliance-driven operational policies and procedures across all regions and business units; ensure consistent application of standards through direct and matrix compliance leadership. Champion a culture of ethical business conduct, accountability, and proactive compliance across CRC Group; serve as a visible internal and external advocate for compliance excellence. Lead, develop, and build a pipeline of compliance talent across multiple teams and sub-functions; establish clear accountability structures, development plans, and succession pathways within the compliance organization. Develop and implement training, policy review, policy and procedures to address and mitigate errors & omissions risk exposure. Contribute to CRC Groupโ€™s strategic planning process as a member of the Legal, Risk & Compliance leadership team; serve on relevant external panels, industry working groups, and regulatory forums to raise CRCโ€™s profile and bring market intelligence back into the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, Finance, Compliance, or a related field required.

Masterโ€™s degree, Juris Doctor, or other advanced degree strongly preferred.

15+ years of progressive experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, or a related legal/compliance function within the financial services or insurance industry. Proven track record as a senior compliance leader with accountability for enterprise-wide compliance programs across multiple business units, functions, and jurisdictions. Deep expertise in regulatory requirements applicable to insurance and financial services. Demonstrated ability to lead, integrate, and develop multiple compliance and complianceโ€‘adjacent teams, with accountability for organizational design, talent development, and succession planning. Experience engaging directly with regulatory agencies, external counsel, and industry bodies; ability to represent the organization credibly in regulatory and compliance forums. Executive-level communication skills; proven ability to advise and influence senior leadership and the Board on complex compliance matters.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) strongly preferred. Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) or equivalent designation desirable.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

Enterprise compliance strategy, framework development, and regulatory program design. Compliance risk assessment, audit program oversight, and enterprise risk management. Policy development, implementation, and ongoing governance across multiโ€‘business, multiโ€‘jurisdictional environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels โ€“ including executive and board level. Crossโ€‘functional leadership and integration of complianceโ€‘adjacent functions (licensing, surplus lines tax, quality assurance, agency appointments). People leadership, organizational design, talent development, and succession planning at scale. External regulatory and industry engagement, including regulatory agency relationships and industry forum participation. High analytical acumen and problemโ€‘solving ability. Proficiency in compliance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
