Job description

TITLE: Accounts Payable, Specialist

REPORTS:  Controller, Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Finance

FLSA CODE: Non-Exempt 

PROGRAM: Wall Street

We help individuals get healthy again, too, with medical and dental care, fitness programs, support for your mental health and more. Individuals can stay with their children while in treatment, while learning new life skills, so they can stay together and repair other broken relationships in their lives. We provide educational and work skill trainings, outpatient services and available housing assistance, so individuals can step back into real life with a real future.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the processing of all accounts payable. Prepares monthly summaries and other reports as required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Check invoices with purchase orders & receipts.

2. Prepare vouchers, classify & code the expenses.

3. Record expenses in the general ledger.

4. Process monthly accounts payable bills such as rents, utilities & all insurance

5. Process petty cash, OMNY cards disbursement, check requests & expense reimbursements.

6. Communicates with vendors and staff to resolve issues.

7. Prepare monthly vendors analyses, open Purchase Orders and vendor statements

8. Prepare journal entries.

9. Prepares & Files annual 1099 MISC and NEC.

10. Filing

11. Assist the Assistant Controller with all finance department matters as assigned.

12. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.

13. Attends all required training.

14. Participates in quality improvement activities. 

15. Adheres to policies on time and attendance and is flexible with scheduling as needed.

16. Other relevant duties as required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. BA/BS degree one to two years’ experience or

2. Associate degree with 2-3 years’ experience

3. Full charge bookkeeper with over 4 years’ experience

4. Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Pivot Table, and Outlook programs). Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
