What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
The Seasonal Construction Technician performs construction inspection and materials testing on various road and bridge projects during the construction season. Review daily construction field reports. Interprets construction drawings and specifications on construction projects and determines if encountered field conditions require a change to the construction contract. Performs various materials testing, including concrete, aggregates, and density testing in the field and lab settings. Tracks and records as-built information for incorporation into project record drawings.
Your Responsibilities
  • Perform daily field inspections of construction work and prepare daily work reports.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications on construction projects.
  • Determine if encountered field conditions require a change to the construction contract.
  • Implement RFIs on submittals and shop drawings into real-world construction projects.
  • Able to perform or monitor a wide variety of materials testing, including concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and density testing.
  • Track and record as-built information for incorporation into project record drawings.
  • Communicate with the project team throughout the process.
  • Ability to keep detailed notes, multitask, strong project organizational skills, and problem solve.
  • Capable of working as a team member with multiple disciplines.

Requirements
Education, Experience, & Licensure:
  • High school diploma. Higher education in engineering or a construction-related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in engineering, construction, or construction inspection.
  • Construction inspection certification, such as ACI Concrete testing certification and ODOT inspection pre-qualifications, is a plus.
