Job description

TITLE: Ocean Kids Classroom Leader - Paid

DEPARTMENT: Ocean Kids

REPORTS TO: Ocean Kids Pastor

To partner with the work of God in kids and parents lives by leading inside and outside of the classroom. As a paid worker, you are a leader in this department. This means that you can lead the lesson in a classroom setting as well as answer any questions that your volunteers may have around you. Ocean Kids paid workers exemplify our core values; humility, believe the best, and leave it better than you found it. Above all else, Ocean Kids paid workers have a vibrant relationship with Jesus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Be prepared to lead Ocean Kids lessons in all classrooms

  • Know the Ocean Kids Policy and Procedures as laid out in Ocean Kid Handbook

  • Promote a team mentality and be willing to help in the development other team members

  • Be on time and willing/able to serve in Ocean Kids

The volunteer is required to follow any other reasonable instruction and perform any other reasonable duties at the request of the supervisor or other senior management personnel.


WORK SCHEDULE

Weekend-Sundays at least 2 services (8:30am, 10am, 11:30am)

Weekday- At least 1 weekday service during groups season; currently we offer Kids Ministry on Wednesday and Thursday evenings

Special Events-We offer a variety of events that we need children's ministry. Ocean Kids classroom leader- paid should be available for these events and they will be communicated in advance

Additional Hours-Some workdays may require preparation leading up to big events. This can include but is not limited to Best Week Ever, Christmas, Easter, etc.

  • Has a servant's heart and a Kingdom mindset in making a place for children to encounter Jesus.

  • Has a relational capacity to care for others while also making weekends run smoothly

  • Has the ability to manage multiple tasks at once with excellence and intentionality

  • Takes initiative and can work independently

REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • High school diploma

  • Ability to lift 30-40lbs

  • Ocean Kids workers must have undergone the volunteer process of Ocean Kids; this includes attending Ocean Church for at least 6 months, attending our Ocean Church "Partnership class", Completing a background check, and attending Ocean Kids policy training.

  • Available to work each weekend

  • Available to work groups on week nights

  • Honor call times and communicating scheduling conflicts a week in advance, additionally leaders will be asked to try and find a replacement in they are not able to be there.

  • Active in Slack (our primary form of communication with workers and volunteers)
