Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton has an opportunity for you to join our military intelligence program(s) of record to deliver, operate and sustain modernized, transformed data science/ data analysis environments worldwide that enable speedy and precise decision making to warfighters.   

Responsibilities:  

The Computer Scientist - Object Based Intelligence (OBI) Analytic Efficiency utilizes expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining data systems and software to create and maintain these systems, develop new technologies and algorithms, and solve complex computing and data system problems.  This position will focus on OBI Analytic Efficiency.  Responsibilities are, but are not limited to: 

 

Computer Science specific: 

  • Employ mathematics, statics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and/or other scientific techniques. 
  • Correlate complex, technical findings into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products. 
  • Assess trends for existing data to identify and leverage other data sources.   
  • Develop and utilize machine learning and data mining algorithms, including, but not limited to, Multiple Information Model Synthesis Architecture (MIMOSA) prediction algorithms based on open-source capabilities. 
  • Integrate or code algorithms to support Government intelligence search and discovery missions. 
  • Make best practice recommendations on managing data within hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth constraints. 
  • Employ data science techniques to support predictive analysis, social media and crowd-source data analytics, wargaming, and strategy development. 
  • Employ exploratory analysis and rapid iteration techniques of large volumes of data. 
  • Prepare products to describe and document findings and activities. 

OBI specific: 

  • Ensure compliance with tradecraft standards and adherence to best practices in system development and deployment. 
  • Assess OBI documentation for completeness, accuracy, and thoroughness, and provide detailed feedback to owners and developers. 
  • Maintain a repository of OBI documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization. 
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement practices for responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, to include: bias detection, hallucination recognition, prompt fairness testing, adherence to analytic tradecraft standards and security policies. 
  • Provide consultation and guidance to owners, developers, and stakeholders on OBI governance and knowledge modeling, including best practices for system development, testing, and deployment. 
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine semantic data retrieval and reasoning across knowledge graphs through development and optimization of data queries via multiple protocols (e.g. GraphQL, SPARQL, SHACL, SQL). 
  • Collaborate with product owners and developers to identify and address potential issues or gaps in OBI documentation. 
  • Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate product owners, developers, and stakeholders on the OBI process and its application in AI system development. 
  • Support stakeholders in translating technical documentation into analytic tradecraft compliant language. 
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine exploratory efforts leveraging technologies (e.g. large language models, natural language processing, machine learning). 
  • Support and automate entity recognition and extraction summarization, in accordance with analytic tradecraft standards. 
  • Enhance advanced analytic integration for OBI efforts. 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, with a minimum of relevant 8 years of experience. 
  • Certification for DoD 8570, Information Assurance (IA) Program (e.g., CISSP, Security +, etc.), or DoD 8140, Cyber Workforce Qualification Program (CWQP). 
  • Experienced in algorithm development, data structures, and software development practices. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions. 
  • Experienced in advanced analytics, machine learning, and data integration methodologies. 
  • Experienced with intelligence databases, software, and analytical tools. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with users and stakeholders. 
  • Capacity to adapt to changing situations to prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in a relevant field. 
  • Experience working in the customer environment is preferred. 

Security Clearance:  

This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
