To thrive as a Perioperative Services Manager, you need a solid background in nursing or surgical services, leadership experience, and typically a bachelor's or master's degree in nursing or healthcare administration. Familiarity with perioperative software systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and regulatory compliance standards is essential, as are certifications like CNOR or NEA-BC. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills help you effectively lead teams and manage complex surgical workflows. These competencies are vital to ensure patient safety, operational efficiency, and high-quality surgical care.
