We’ve built a platform for independent chefs who want to grow something of their own: Shef handles delivery, customer service, platform logistics & more, allowing you to just focus on the cooking.

Job Description

We are seeking talented chefs to cook for our weekly meal plan service, our curated subscription offering focused on easy dinners and lunches. This subscription model is designed for recurring orders, unlocking steady revenue for our participating chefs. All our chefs undergo vetting, taste tasting and menu workshopping to ensure the food offerings meet our standards. Compensation is a flat fee per serving sold.

We’re launching a curated, organic, high-quality menu offering for customers in the Bay Area and are seeking experienced private chefs, meal prep chefs, and restaurant professionals to partner with us.

You have:

  • Private chef, catering, or professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary School degree and/or 3+ years of experience in restaurant kitchens
  • Your food handler's or food manager's certificate (or are willing to obtain one)
  • The capacity (and space) to cook at least 20 servings a day
  • Experience costing and sourcing ingredients at a restaurant level

You are:

  • Passionate about solving mealtime stress for families
  • Experienced in sourcing and cooking with high-quality organic ingredients
  • Motivated, responsive and professional
  • Precise with food safety measures & cleanliness
  • Able to cook 1-4 days/week
  • Experienced at cooking one of the following cuisines: Mediterranean, Italian, New American, Mexican, Middle Eastern, East/ South East Asian.
