Job Title: OB Registered Nurse (Labor, Delivery, Postpartum) – Nights

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Pay Rate: $75/hour (All Inclusive)
License Required: Active RN License – Maine
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery
Position OverviewThe OB Registered Nurse provides holistic, patient-centered nursing care for women and newborns during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and recovery phases. The nurse will independently manage patient care within the scope of practice, ensuring safety, compassion, and adherence to hospital standards and regulatory guidelines.
This role requires a highly skilled and empathetic nurse with hands-on experience in Labor & Delivery, including assisting with deliveries, fetal monitoring, postpartum recovery, and neonatal care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op GYN patients.
Monitor mothers and newborns for complications during and after delivery.
Manage and interpret fetal monitoring and vital signs.
Administer medications and perform physician-ordered treatments.
Support and assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and recovery.
Educate and counsel mothers and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn safety.
Maintain detailed, accurate patient records in Cerner EMR.
Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, confidentiality regulations, and safety standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations as required.
QualificationsActive RN License in the state of Maine (or compact).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or OB unit.
Current BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE certifications required.
Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
