The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.
We're hiring a Service Station Attendant to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!
Job Summary:
Attend to guests at the front counter in the gas station. Help stock, give directions, and keep public spaces clean and sanitary.
The Details:
Position Type: Full-time Year-round
Start Dates: Mid-July
Pay: $17.20/hr
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Assist guests in pumping gasoline.
  • Perform all work assigned in a friendly and congenial manner.
  • Bag ice daily.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions with accuracy.
  • Perform clean up around the service station area.
  • Perform safety inspections daily.
  • Clean/sanitize Service Station bathrooms.
  • Help in all Retail outlets as needed.
  • May be required to don personal protective equipment (PPE); gloves, eyewear, etc.
  • Must become knowledgeable of safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate positively with peers and supervisor.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment while handling cash.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous cash handling experience.
  • Knowledge of the Park and surrounding area.
  • Must be well groomed, clean and neat.
  • Be aware of safety precautions.
  • Ability to be licensed for propane dispensing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to live and work in extreme temperatures.

Physical Requirements include:
  • Physically able to work standing for eight hours, and must have the endurance to function in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to shoulder height.
  • Must be able to withstand working in extreme outdoor summer temperatures.
  • Frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and grasp.
