Job Title:DF SUM AY25/26 OAP First Tracks Trip LeaderJob Description:The Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP) First Tracks Trip Leader plays a critical role in welcoming incoming students to campus through Regis University's outdoor pre-orientation experience. Trip Leaders are energetic, positive, and highly responsible student leaders who create an inclusive and supportive environment while leading groups in outdoor settings.
This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, sound judgment, and the ability to serve as a positive role model for incoming students. Trip Leaders help students build community, confidence, and connection as they transition into college life.
  • Plan,facilitate, and lead OAP FirstTrackspre-orientation programs and outdoor activities.

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for incoming students.

  • Serve as a strong role model bydemonstratingprofessionalism, integrity, positivity, and respect for others.

  • Lead groups with high energy, enthusiasm, and adaptability in both outdoor and group-living environments.

  • Foster community and encourage participation throughteam-building, communication, and leadership activities.

  • Maintain group safety through effective risk management, sound decision-making, and situational awareness.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, co-leaders, supervisors, and university staff.

  • Provide mentorship and support to incoming students during their transition to college life.

  • Be proficient in technical outdoor skillsappropriate toassigned trips and activities.

  • Assistwith triplogistics, gear preparation, transportation, and program setup/cleanup.

  • Respond calmly and effectively to challenges, conflicts, and emergencies in the field.

  • Uphold all Outdoor Adventure Program and Regis University policies and expectations.

Employment Dates

OAP First Tracks Trip Leaders will work fromAugust 13toAugust 19,2026,and must be available for the entire duration of training and trips with no exceptions.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Learn andutilizeOAP software systems for gear rental, inventory management, and trip registration.

  • Maintain positive and proactive customer service at all times.

  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a leadership team.

  • Manage multiple responsibilities in fast-paced environments.

  • Demonstrate punctuality, dependability, honesty, and professionalism.

  • Communicate information clearly, patiently, and respectfully to participants and customers.

  • Learn and follow detailed procedures, policies, and safety expectations.

MinimumRequirements

  • Previousexperience working with the Outdoor Adventure Program or equivalent outdoor leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to lead and motivate groups with enthusiasm and professionalism.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and managing group dynamics.

  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for incoming college students.

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
