Job description

The Crew Business Insights team is seeking a leader who will be responsible for the discovery, sizing, and initial feasibility assessment of efficiency solutions within Flight Operations (FOP). This role requires curiosity, innovation, partnership with operating divisions, expert level of data analysis, and the ability to translate insights from financial impact to results. The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of database structure/schemas and be able to translate data to deliver on dynamic business objectives. The initiatives generated by this leader are expected to result in substantial savings over the next 3 years in coordination with other arms of the team.

Responsibilities:

Cost-Saving Analytics and Insights:

  • Lead efforts to identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities within all FOP departments (Crew Scheduling, Crew Tracking, Hotels, Transportation, and Training)
  • Conduct advanced data analysis to understand inefficiencies in crew operations and develop strategies to align with business objectives
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate analytics findings and proposed value capture

Decision Support & Business Value Communication:

  • Communicate insights effectively to senior management, quantifying the value of recommended actions and cost-saving initiatives
  • Build clear, data-driven business cases to support operational changes and influence company-wide decision-making
  • Translate complex analytics into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including FOP, IT, ODS, and OAP to align on initiatives that drive cost efficiency
  • Serve as a liaison between the analytics team and other departments, ensuring collaborative and efficient execution of cost-saving strategies
  • Partner with data product team to enhance data availability and quality, supporting more robust and accurate analysis

Continuous Improvement & Optimization:

  • Establish and track key performance metrics to monitor the success of cost-saving initiatives and identify areas for further improvement
  • Leverage industry best practices and emerging technologies
  • Drive the continuous improvement of analytical methods, tools, and reporting systems to deliver high-quality insights with increased efficiency
