What You'll Do
An OBC Operations agent is responsible for performing day-to-day operational duties related to the Ascent On-Board Courier product. Answering emails in a timely fashion, building Peak shipments, quoting loads, and tracking the running loads. OBC Agents must communicate and organize all services associated with Ascent On-Boad Courier product while maintaining the highest level of attention to detail and customer service. This position also requires you to work cross functionally with our MX team using shared processes and creating growth together. Adhere to and promote the company's Guiding Principles of "Play Hard" "Play Smart" and "Play Together".
  • Optimize expedited activity and determine the most optimal mode of transit based on customer requirements.
  • Create new OBC shipments with all relative information provided by the customer. Either via email or phone call.
  • Effectively communicate quote requests to the customer via phone or email.
  • Confidently assemble creative and detailed quotes for On-Board courier services.
  • Effectively communicate all timing and appropriate cost aspects in quote detail.
  • Maintain compliance with Ascent procedures and establish accurate timelines for purpose of adequately scheduling trucking and ground handling services at various airports.
  • Identify issues related to OBC movements and effectively escalate both internally and externally.
  • Maintain awareness and visualize shipment activity in efforts to maintain compliance with all milestone management details and escalation.
  • Read, comprehend, understand, and validate all documents necessary for a Hand carry.
  • Effectively manage all channels of communication utilized within the Ascent OBC operation.
  • Precisely and chronologically document the various events throughout the Hand carry lifecycle using standardized templates.
  • Assist with auditing and carrier evaluations.
  • Provide quality customer service to each customer per their individual needs.

What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Basic geography of USA, Mexico, and Canada. Applicants should understand the locations of US States, Mexico, and Canadian Provinces - including major cities.
  • Detailed organizational skills.
  • Solid communications skills - both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time-sensitive problem situations.
  • Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions.
