Job description

About Bluebird
We're The Bluebird Group - we're an omnichannel commerce partner that helps brands grow across every retail and digital channel.
We sit at the intersection of retail, eCommerce, media, and data. We help brands show up wherever their customers are (Target, Amazon, Walmart, Costco, social commerce like TikTok, and beyond) and drive real sales growth.
We're not just strategists - we're a hands-on team of experienced retail operators who execute across everything from retail media and creative to data, insights, and full go-to-market strategy.
The result: we simplify what's become a really complex retail landscape and help brands scale faster and smarter.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Retail Media Lead who is equal parts strategist, operator, and storyteller. In this role, you will lead advertising strategy across a portfolio of client accounts, build performance-driven campaigns across the retail media ecosystem (onsite and offsite), and translate data into clear, compelling narratives for brand leaders.
This role carries a Target-focused book of business, so experience with Target (Roundel) and Criteo is highly valued. That said, we hire for retail media fluency over any single platform. The right person can move across networks and bring a point of view to every one of them.
You will own outcomes, lead conversations, and proactively identify opportunities before they are obvious. If you bring a point of view, thrive in fast-moving environments, and want to shape how brands grow through retail media, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
  • Own and drive advertising strategy across onsite and offsite retail media (sponsored placements and programmatic display) for complex client accounts
  • Lead strategic planning across annual, seasonal, and campaign-level initiatives, including budget allocation
  • Build and deliver QBRs with clear storytelling, actionable insights, and forward-looking strategy
  • Navigate challenging client conversations with confidence (performance dips, budget shifts, competitive pressure)
  • Proactively identify growth opportunities, including new ad formats, targeting strategies, and category expansion
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (client, digital, creative) to ensure a cohesive, full-funnel approach
  • Oversee budget pacing and performance across campaigns, optimizing toward client KPIs
  • Monitor competitive landscape and digital shelf trends to inform strategy
  • Contribute to team best practices and help evolve internal playbooks
  • Champion new tools, platforms, and workflows that improve performance and efficiency

Required Skills & Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in retail media, digital advertising, or e-commerce marketing (agency experience preferred)
  • Proven track record managing multiple accounts and delivering measurable results
  • Strong understanding of retail media campaign strategy: keyword and product targeting, bidding, audience strategy, and campaign architecture
  • Comfortable working with performance data, attribution models, and platform reporting tools
  • Strong client communication skills, including leading presentations with senior stakeholders
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and storytelling
  • Strategic mindset, able to connect campaign decisions to broader business outcomes
  • Adaptable and comfortable learning new tools and platforms quickly

Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • Hands-on experience with Target (Roundel) and/or Criteo, across onsite and offsite media
  • Familiarity with additional retailer media networks (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Instacart, and emerging platforms)
  • Familiarity with retail media ad tech platforms such as Skai, Pacvue, or similar
  • Experience spanning both onsite sponsored media and offsite/programmatic display

What We Look For
  • Storytelling with data - You turn performance into a clear narrative that drives decisions
  • Curiosity - You question assumptions and look for what others might be missing
  • Ownership - You lean in when challenges arise and don't wait for direction
  • Project management - You can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Team-first mindset - You elevate the people around you and communicate clearly across teams
  • Creative problem-solving - You find smarter, more effective ways to drive results
  • Confidence - You have a point of view and aren't afraid to share it

Bluebird prioritizes the inclusion of diverse perspectives. We aspire all team members to feel like this is a place where they belong. Where they are respected by the company and are empowered to impact the business and achieve their full potential. We understand that relationships built on trust, respect and communication better serve our clients, team members and business.
