Job description
The Student Placement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing student placements, including group, observation, precepted, and leadership assignments. The coordinator also supports the Nurse Residency and Clinical Education programs by performing various administrative, clerical, and data entry functions. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Schools of Nursing, Nursing management, educators, and Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Placement Coordination:
- Manage and schedule undergraduate nursing student clinical placements.
- Coordinate group placements, observation opportunities, precepted experiences, and leadership assignments.
- Liaise with Nursing leaders and Schools of Nursing to ensure appropriate student placement in clinical units.
- Maintain student documentation and ensure compliance with pre-clinical requirements such as immunization records, orientation completion, and other necessary documentation.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Monitor, enter, and review data in various systems, including Erlanger scheduling system and student clinical placement system.
- Generate and distribute reports regarding Clinical Placement and employment of students and graduates.
- Maintain and review of Clinical Affiliation Agreements as requested.
Communication & Customer Service:
- Serve as a liaison with academic partners and nursing leaders regarding clinical placement processes.
- Communicate placement schedules and student requirements to Nursing units and clinical instructors.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to resolve placement issues and enhance student experience.
- Conduct 'rounding' on clinical days to assess needs and maintain rapport with students and faculty.
Education:
Required:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
