Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), medication administration systems, and patient monitoring equipment is essential. Strong communication, empathy, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for building patient trust and working collaboratively with healthcare teams. Effective time management, strong communication with interdisciplinary teams, and seeking support from colleagues are key strategies for managing these demands. Many hospitals also provide resources like mentorship programs and employee wellness initiatives to help RNs cope and thrive in their roles.
