About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Critical Care NP in Virginia!

Our client is seeking a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 42-day assignment starting Sep 7, 2026, in Virginia. This role involves night shifts from 7pm to 7am, providing comprehensive critical care services and managing complex cases, including various procedures, while working independently with intensivist backup.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive critical care services during night shifts, 7pm to 7am.
  • Manage complex inpatient cases within the critical care unit.
  • Work independently with an Intensivist available on call for backup.
  • Perform critical care procedures including intubations, central venous catheter placement, and arterial line placement.

Additional Information

  • Board Certifications required: Critical Care Medicine, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification - Adult Gerontology (ACNPC-AG).
  • EMR System: Epic.
  • Mandatory requirement for privileges: Clinician must provide case log documentation of inpatient care to a minimum of 100 patients in the critical care unit during the past 12 months.
  • Mandatory requirement for privileges: Clinician must provide case log documentation showing a minimum of 15 intubations, 15 central lines, and 15 arterial lines within the past 12 months, and maintain this documentation throughout the privileging process.
