Job description

Eaton's Data Center Solutions division is seeking an Operations & Engineering Manager to lead operations, manufacturing and test engineering activities supporting configure-to-order (CTO) side car product.

The Operations & Engineering Manager will lead cross-functional efforts to establish scalable manufacturing processes, deploy production test capabilities, drive operational performance, and support future business growth.

The successful candidate will provide technical and people leadership across operations and engineering functions while partnering closely with Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Operations teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction objectives. The role combines startup-site leadership, manufacturing engineering expertise, and operational execution to develop world-class assembly and test capabilities supporting Eaton's growing data center business.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year.

What you’ll do
  • Lead operations, manufacturing engineering, and test engineering activities to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time assembly and testing of configure-to-order data center products.
  • Develop and execute the site's manufacturing and engineering strategy, establishing scalable assembly processes, test methods, production infrastructure, and operational roadmaps that support business growth.
  • Manage and develop manufacturing engineering, test engineering, and production teams by providing technical leadership, coaching, talent development, and accountability for business results.
  • Establish and sustain standard work, routings, test procedures, process controls, visual management systems, and leader standard work to drive operational excellence and repeatable execution.
  • Partner with Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to support new product introductions, improve manufacturability and testability, and ensure production readiness.
  • Lead continuous improvement, cost-out, and productivity initiatives utilizing Eaton Business System (EBS), Lean Manufacturing, value stream mapping, structured problem-solving, and data-driven decision making.
  • Drive execution of capital equipment, automation, facility expansion, manufacturing technology, and test infrastructure projects that improve safety, quality, throughput, and long-term operational capability.
  • Own operational performance through deployment of key performance indicators including safety, quality, first-pass yield, productivity, on-time delivery, inventory, and cost, while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, or a combination of both in a production environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives.
You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience leading new product introduction (NPI), production launches, or factory start-up activities.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with ERP, MES, manufacturing planning, and shop floor execution systems.
  • Experience managing capital projects and manufacturing automation initiatives
