The New Product Introduction (NPI) Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing NPI sourcing strategies that align with business goals, category strategies, by ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and quality compliance. This leadership role involves managing supplier relationships, driving strategic initiatives, and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization. The Strategic Sourcing Leader plays a critical role in risk management, supplier performance optimization, and continuous improvement of NPI procurement processes. What you will do:
  • Lead sourcing workstreams across NPI phase gates, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Lead sourcing strategy and supplier engagement for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from concept through launch
  • Define and implement optimal procurement methods (e.g., direct, VMI, consignment) to support program objectives
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers in partnership with Corporate Integrated Supply Chain (ISC)
  • Gather and validate supplier data on pricing, capacity, and lead times to support planning and decision-making
  • Collaborate with key suppliers in early design and product development activities to drive cost, quality, and manufacturability
  • Partner with Engineering to support prototype, sample, and pre-production sourcing requirements
  • Analyze supplier cost structures, market pricing, and value drivers to inform sourcing decisions and negotiations
  • Proactively manage cost, including resisting price increases, leveraging commodity strategies, and market intelligence
  • Review RFQs, evaluate bids, and award business in alignment with budget targets and scope of authority
  • Negotiate commercial terms (cost, lead time, capacity, and agreements) for new production parts while building strong, long-term supplier relationships
  • Act as escalation point for supply or delivery risks; drive mitigation plans and resolution with suppliers
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate sourcing and procurement data, including costs, performance metrics, and supplier records
  • Ensure seamless transition of sourcing and supplier ownership to site Procurement teams at product launch
  • Lead sourcing workstreams across NPI phase gates, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement or related fields; experience with local/regional suppliers and composing up to five commodity strategies during the last three years

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPSM or CIPM
  • New Product Development or related fields; experience with a wide array of commodities
