New Product Development / Design to Value Engineer

What we are looking for

We are looking for a New Product Development / Design to Value ( NPD/DTV) Engineer to be responsible for the development of refrigerated merchandisers, as well as cost reduction efforts on the existing product lines.

What you will be responsible for in this role
  • Apply value engineering methodologies to optimize cost position on existing products.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering to implement cost saving projects.
  • Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, including scheduling and cross functional communication
  • Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve the product standardization and modularity.
  • Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulation of proposed concepts.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to validate the solution with the customer.
  • Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution.
  • Conduct field tests to validate the solution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrates capability to solve difficult and complex problems
What are the basic qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in design of industrial products
What are the preferred qualifications
  • Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier, sealed-system, airflow thermal management, or similar, design theory and application
  • Experience in practical application of Six Sigma and Lean tools
  • MS Mechanical Engineering
