APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Ossining, NY looking to add a Compliance Manager to their already amazing team.  Their primary responsibility will be to develop, oversee, and maintain the organization’s compliance and privacy programs.  Keep reading for more details!

 What your day will look like:
 
  • Serve as the Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer for Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. 
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the organization’s compliance and privacy programs. 
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, New York State regulations, the SHIELD Act, and OIG compliance standards. 
  • Act as the primary contact for all compliance and privacy-related matters. 
  • Oversee patient rights, workforce training, policy enforcement, breach response, investigations, auditing, and monitoring activities. 
  • Ensure proper use, disclosure, and protection of Protected Health Information (PHI). 
  • Maintain and update privacy policies, procedures, and Notice of Privacy Practices. 
  • Monitor compliance across multiple national and international locations. 
  • Review and evaluate compliance concerns and provide guidance to leadership and staff. 
  • Ensure employees and leadership follow organizational policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct. 
  • Lead internal audits and administrative functions related to compliance and privacy operations. 
  • Manage compliance with evolving global, federal, and state healthcare privacy laws and regulations. 
  • Support additional compliance initiatives and responsibilities assigned by the General Council. 
 What we are looking for:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Legal Studies, Compliance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred. 
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare privacy or compliance, preferably within long-term care or other healthcare environments. 
  • Strong knowledge of the OIG Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program, HIPAA Privacy Rule, GDPR, and applicable state privacy and regulatory laws. 
  • Extensive understanding of the PHI lifecycle, including permissible use and disclosure requirements. 
  • Strong background in compliance training, policy development, and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and/or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire. 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, document management platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint, and workflows involving sensitive information and data access controls. 
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems and a strong understanding of how Protected Health Information (PHI) is created, maintained, accessed, and secured. 
  • Familiarity with compliance monitoring, audit management, and incident tracking systems is highly preferred.
