Nurse Manager – New Paltz, NY

Location: New Paltz, NY
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000 base/year (up to $90,000 with advanced degree)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Nurse Manager to join our team at a non-profit organization operating a network of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) dedicated to ensuring access to healthcare for all. Services include primary care, behavioral health, specialty care, and health education and advocacy.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, and medical assistants) across multiple primary care and specialty services.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow, quality care, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules, assign duties, and manage time-off requests to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and administrative leadership to improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage clinical quality metrics, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and address deficiencies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing nursing policies, procedures, and evidence-based protocols.
  • Investigate and resolve patient complaints, staff concerns, and incident reports promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate orientation and training for new nursing staff and ensure continuing education requirements are met.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective utilization and timely reordering.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and upper management.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response within the health center network.
