Substation Foreman - Electrical Construction (Non-Union)

About the Role
FindTalent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Foreman to oversee the construction and maintenance of substation projects. This role involves supervising crews, managing site operations, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications. This position requires travel across multiple states to project locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to Line Crews, including Linemen, Groundmen, and Apprentices.
  • Coordinate essential on-site personnel and manage crew mobilization for assigned projects.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of supplies, materials, and equipment for project needs.
  • Assist in planning, directing, and budgeting construction activities, including towers, foundations, and electrical equipment installation.
  • Interpret and execute site plans, construction drawings, and scopes of work.
  • Maintain effective communication with Superintendents, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and other key personnel.
  • Monitor and adhere to detailed construction schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • Uphold company standards, including the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Foreman is required; experience as a General Foreman or Superintendent is a strong advantage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Journeyman Lineman certification is essential.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and scopes of work.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various roles.
  • Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and utility crew groundwork.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including above 100 feet.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, effective communication, and a commitment to safety.
  • Flexible with work hours and willing to travel extensively.
