Job description

  • Welcomes patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner and verifies patient contact and insurance information on file
  • Arranges appointments and registers patients, ensuring that all demographic information is current
  • Answers non-medical questions and gives routine non-medical instructions.
  • Answers and screens telephone calls and takes messages
  • Collects, verifies, and enters into the billing system all insurance and third-party resources for payment
  • Verify accuracy of billing data and resolve any discrepancies
  • May coordinate insurance verification and perform precertification with insurance companies
  • May prepare charge tickets and receive co-payments for office visit
  • Monthly completion of Eagle training
  • Other duties as assigned.

       High school diploma or the equivalent

       Previous experience or education in a health-related field helpful

       Basic office skills such as typing and filing

       Good organizational skills
