What You'll Do

We are seeking a Sales Desk Consultant for our Business Owners Solutions and NQ Distribution - Internal Sales team. This is a great opportunity to deliver outstanding sales support in our Life, Disability, and NQ areas. Your main responsibility will be to communicate with key distribution partners and advisors through daily phone contact, contributing to the improvement of business concepts and product sales.

  • Respond promptly and accurately to producer inquiries, providing expertise on products, concepts, illustrations, systems, or service issues, as well as relationship management. Conduct effective situation diagnosis and follow through to address issues and/or refer to appropriate parties for resolution. Provide backup to team members.
  • Assist in implementing database strategies to optimize individual, unit, and field performance, as well as accumulate knowledge of producers for current and future sales.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required to support our mission.

Who You Are
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, plus 1+ years related work experience (life insurance, financial services or sales experience preferred).
  • You possess a broad understanding of insurance operations, products, and concepts, with the ability to apply marketing strategies and systems.
  • You demonstrate strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
  • You have effective verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to develop effective relationships and motivate producer behavior.

Licensing will be required based on state/federal laws and/or company policy in accordance with current licensing policy. The below licenses are required within:

    • Resident Life and Health appointment must be attained within 30 days of employment.
    • Successful Registration as an Investment Company Products/Variable contracts Limited Representative (SIE, FINRA Series 6 or equivalent and FINRA Series 63) within 4 months of employment.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$24.21 - $28.32 / hour
Time Off Program
Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

This role will be based in our Des Moines, IA home office location and will allow for a hybrid work arrangement (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek).
