Psychiatrist Pod Lead

This is a remote position. Psychiatrist Pod Lead (Remote – Full-Time) Location: Remote (U.S.) Schedule: Flexible | 10 - 40 hours/week Employment Type: W-2 or 1099 Reports To: Executive Medical Director

Overview We're expanding our behavioral health team and seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for the role of Psychiatrist Pod Lead. This position combines direct telepsychiatry care with clinical leadership, overseeing a team of psychiatric nurse practitioners within a collaborative care model. You'll provide expert psychiatric treatment for adults and older adults with serious mental illness (SMI), substance use disorders (SUD), and dementia, while mentoring a high-performing, multidisciplinary team. This is a fully remote role —we provide all equipment and administrative support to ensure seamless virtual practice. Applicants must be board-certified practicing psychiatrists. Non-psychiatrist applicants will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a psychiatry pod of psychiatric nurse practitioners delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. Conduct team huddles, case reviews, and supervision to ensure collaboration and adherence to best practices. Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, medication management, and crisis intervention. Collaborate with primary care providers and care management teams to support whole-person care. Contribute to behavioral health program development and clinical process improvement. Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing education of clinical team members. Participate in a limited rotating on-call schedule (few times per year).

Requirements Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry required. Must have Active medical license in Arizona 2+ years of leadership experience supervising psychiatric NPs or multidisciplinary behavioral health teams. Experience in telepsychiatry and treating adults/seniors with complex behavioral health needs. Additional board certifications (preferred): Geriatric, Addiction, or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Skills & Experience Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills in SMI, SUD, and geriatric psychiatry. Proven leadership and mentoring ability. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable using virtual EHR systems and working remotely.

Benefits Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses up to $300K with bonuses as a W2 Competitive Salary of $220-$230 an hour as a 1099 401(k) with up to 3.5% match.
