Quantitative Analyst Job Type

We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst for the Financial Crimes Compliance division. The role is ideal for a driven candidate who wants to grow at the intersection of quantitative analytics, financial crime prevention, automation, and AI-assisted analytical tools. Candidates will have experience in quantitative analysis, knowledge of financial crime compliance, and statistical modeling.

The Quantitative Analyst will support the monitoring of models used to detect and prevent financial crimes, incorporating BSA, AML, OFAC, CIP and CDD regulations and principles, ensuring regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include developing, interpreting, and implementing statistical concepts to enhance systems. The selected candidate will be part of a high-performing team focused on improving detection capabilities, reducing inefficiencies, strengthening model governance, and responsibly applying modern analytics and AI-enabled approaches to solve complex compliance challenges. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, or anomalies that may indicate financial crimes, utilizing quantitative techniques such as detection models, natural language processing, text matching algorithms, customer classification and clustering, and AI-assisted analytics, among others, using statistical analysis software programs such as Python, R, SAS, among others.
  • Evaluate and monitor model performanceto ensure they remain effective and compliant with regulatory policies.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements in processes and modeling, including programming optimizations, to enhance overall efficiency and performance.
  • Apply statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical and text data to provide usable information.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding model effectiveness, detection improvements, operational efficiency, control enhancements, and risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with compliance, technology, and operations teams to improve financial crime monitoring systems and accelerate analytical solutions.
  • Keep updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial crime prevention.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and memos summarizing findings from analyses for management, regulatory bodies, and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of any developed models, including methodologies, assumptions, and validation processes.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.

Experience

Quantitative discipline with at least three years of related experience; or Master’s degree (M.A.) in a quantitative discipline or a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with at least two years of related experience.

Other Qualifications
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following software programs: Python, R, SQL, or SAS
  • Knowledge of Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheets, other related software.
  • Knowledge of BSA, AML, OFAC, CIP and CDD regulations and principles.
  • Ability to connect data patterns, customer behavior, transaction activity, applicable regulations, and financial crime typologies to support effective monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare clear documentation, presentations, spreadsheets, and analytical summaries for technical, management, audit, and regulatory audiences.
  • Process large amounts of data for to support statistical modeling, trend analysis, visualization, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Interest in automation, model monitoring, and data-driven control improvements.
  • Fully bilingual, English and Spanish.
