Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Oncology / Infusion (PRN)

Department: Oncology / Infusion
Status: PRN (As Needed)

Reports To: Manager โ€“ Infusion and Oncology Services
Location: Pagosa Springs Medical Center โ€“ Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Position Summary

Pagosa Springs Medical Center is seeking an experienced PRN Oncology / Infusion Registered Nurse to provide supplemental support to our oncology care team.

This position administers chemotherapy and infusion treatments, monitors patient responses, and collaborates with providers and clinical staff to ensure safe and effective oncology care. The PRN RN supports continuity of care for oncology patients while maintaining high clinical and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion therapies
  • Perform IV therapy, port access, and infusion monitoring
  • Assess patients prior to, during, and after treatment
  • Monitor for and respond to infusion reactions or complications
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatments and side effects
  • Document all patient care and treatments accurately in the EMR
  • Collaborate with oncology providers and clinical team members
  • Follow all oncology treatment protocols and safety guidelines

Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
  • BSN preferred
Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years ofย Oncology or infusion nursing experience
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current Colorado RN license in good standing
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • OCN โ€“ Oncology Certified Nurse certificationย required
  • ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy & Biotherapy certification required
Skills
  • Advanced IV therapy and infusion management
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and safety practices
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Compensation Range: $33.25 - $51.40 hourly, based on years of relevant experience ranging from 0 to 22ย years of experience.ย 
  • PRN Differential: PRN employees in this position receive an additional $5/hr. PRN differential pay.ย ย ย 
  • Benefits: PRN benefits include sick leave and retirement plan with employer contribution.ย ย ย
